Am so happy. I feel like it’s my birthday. Today, KithyLouise turns a year older. A year wiser. A year towards more creativity.
But let me tell you something..It has not been easy.
Life in general has taught me so much. At this age, I have learnt to just live my life and do what I love and what I want with my life. This is because Life is too short. Too short to waste it in things that do not make you happy and the truth is I never want to regret when I get old and start wishing I did this and that back in the day. I don’t even know where time flies to nowadays. Back when I was in school time use to be very slow. Like seriously slow…Wait, It could have been the boring chemistry lessons and Mathematics.. I don’t know..
I have been taught that friends come and go but those meant to stay in your life will always stay. I have made a lot of friends and lost some but all I say to myself is isn’t this life? I don’t know what L means, what I means, what F means, what E means. I don’t know. What I know is am going to continue living this life. This time am focused to be better than I have been.
Grandma keeps reminding me of trusting God in this life in everything I do. Trust me guys, this works.
I just turned one year in writing. I initially was on kithylouise.wordpress.com (May it rest in peace..hehe) but I went ahead and got my own domain after three months, special thanks to my friend Janeson of Latitude media who helped me design my website how I wanted it.
It all started when I met this friend of mine from Uganda called PaulotheWriter last year in September and he told me he is a writer and has website where he shares what he writes. He offered to help me create one and the rest is history………..
In the one year I have learnt so much that’s why am writing about life. That’s why am sharing from a place I have been to. I have learnt that the writing journey is not easy. You have to keep up. You have to keep up with your readers and followers and give them what they want to read. You have to be active in writing and know your target audience. I have learnt so much guys. I have also realized that reading books is a very nice way to keep the mind awake so if you are reading this, here is a tip. Keep reading. But I must confess I have this one novel that I have been reading seven months now and counting, I don’t know when I will be done. It’s probably so dusty right now at the far end of my shelf.
I have met various writers and bloggers and interacted with several. By the way, let me make this clear, there is a difference between this two. Am a writer not blogger. I don’t know the real meaning but I know am a writer not blogger (Grabs dictionary)..
So I have this cousin of mine who just graduated from campus and he invited the family to celebrate with him over the weekend and everyone who was told to talk or congratulate him, I mean most of the guys especially the elderly told him he has done nothing. Like seriously??? Do they even know what he went through to be there? Do they know that he had to come to class on a Monday morning..nasty hangdown and pretend to listen to the lecturer? Do they know what he had to go through to make decisions on whether to attend a lecture or attend that house party that everyone will be attending? They don’t even know that he went for a road trip and missed an assessment where he later had to go sweet talk the lecturer to give him a make up test. Y’all know the struggles…Right?? So dear cousin, Congratulations!
Then as we are trying to catch up after the occasion, I hear my name..It’s my other cousin.
“Kithy, by the way, I want you to write something controversial.” He told me.
“Uhmmmmm..Controversial????” Am confused…
Where do I even start writing a controversial post? Am there actually wondering how controversial is controversial? Then I go ahead and tell him am not a controversial writer. I am a creative writer who can write fiction and non-fiction stories. There is no great feeling than knowing your niche and knowing where you belong. Who remembers when I was in my other website I use to post about playlists, before finding my niche then later recognized it after writing my first online book series ‘My weekend party’ that was total fiction. How I wish I could continue with that story. You know, maybe tell you whether Babyface met again with Purity. Whether another party was held after that…Hmm, I will think about it.
This quote keeps me going: “Writing is exploring , you start from nothing and learn as you go” – Great quote by E.L.Doctorow.
With me writing for one year on this website so far, I have learnt so much in life. It has taught me to be persistent. It has taught me to be more creative than I was. Am trying not to write about when I have been experiencing writers block. That’s a story for another day. The good thing is that it has made me see am inspiring various people in different ways and I have people who look up to me and am not ready to let them down.
The truth is nothing feels better than doing what you love. Nothing feels better than doing what you are passionate about and nothing feels better like knowing someone somewhere is looking up to you. I know I gotta keep up but it’s a great feeling.
Now I feel like a motivational writer after going through what I have just written.
As I turn a year older in writing here, I wanna say a big thank you to all my readers and followers and to all those who support me. Special thanks to Bloggers Association of Kenya for the support and recognizing me.
Let’s keep on keeping on.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Am humbled..
