The Contemporary Dance

Yesterday evening I had a chance to attend the Contemporary Dance Performance “WHAT DREAMS MAY COME” at the Go Down Arts Center , Nairobi. It was my first time going there and I must say it was a nice experience.  Thanks to my friend Darius https://dariusix.wordpress.com/. The Go Down arts center is a place for Kenyan creativity in media and Arts.

Being my first time, I enjoyed the serenity and the graphics drawn on the walls outside the hall. The drawings on the wall prove that Kenyans really have talent. I also saw a portrait of Wangari Maathai  drawn on the wall. That  was real talent right there I must say. My friend and I  walked  to the hall where the dance performance was taking place. The room was dark , pin-drop silence. Flashy lights focused on the rear front. I saw a white lady dancing. She was dancing to some “contemporary” music.

I really liked how she danced. Her dance moves were out of this world. I also saw her do the 180 degree dance (don’t know whether to call it the tango or jive). The way she danced, her dance posture was great. Seriously, I admired every move she made. The most interesting bit was how she interacted with her audience. I am now regretting not taking pictures to share with you guys. Blame it all on Darius. I might also need to upgrade my  phone and purchase a flashy one. Am also planning on attending classes to learn the “contemporary dance” moves.

Am glad I had fun and the fact that I made a new friend. I look forward to attending much more of this events.

xThanks for passing byx
